The Trans Clothing Closet Resource (TCCR) is where transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming students can find free clothing and accessories. While any and all George Mason student are welcome to utilize the TCCR, this resource was developed because transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people can have a hard time finding places where they can shop comfortably due to discrimination, can find it financially challenging to replace large amounts of clothes to help them express their gender, and can find it financially difficult to purchase clothing due to job discrimination. No one has to prove they are “trans enough” to use the closet.
This is available to George Mason University students.
Trans Student Educational Resources is a youth-led organization dedicated to transforming the educational environment for trans and gender nonconforming students through advocacy and empowerment. In addition to our focus on creating a more trans-friendly education system, our mission is to educate the public and teach trans activists how to be effective organizers. We believe that justice for trans and gender nonconforming youth is contingent on an intersectional framework of activism. Ending oppression is a long-term process that can only be achieved through collaborative action.
This group is for Transmen and transwomen to give away their biological gender’s old clothing or to receive clothes that match your preferred gender or taste in clothing! Clothing is an important first step in everyone’s transition. Something so small can be such a huge first step for anyone transitioning, so all help is welcome and appreciated!
